Early Christmas

We started off the holiday season tonight with Daniel's Aunt Sandi and Uncle John, and their kiddos Nick and Kaci (and Kaci's boyfriend, Matt). After a good dinner at O'Charleys we returned to our house to exchange gifts. As you can see, Owen is loving his t-ball set, which I also appreciate because it's a good indoor or outdoor gift! Thank ya'll very much!!! :)

Playing Superman

Hi all--it's been awhile since our last post. We are doing well but have been very busy with the Christmas season. Owen took a break from Christmas shopping to play Superman. We use dishtowels (he prefers the Christmas red with reindeer) as capes! As you can see in the photos, today Superman was playing the bad guy and running away with Dad's remote control.

Mums

For anyone who's moved, you probably know that you spend the first six months after moving finding things about your new house that you like (of course, there are always things that you don't like too...). One of the things that I like are these GORGEOUS mums that the folks who lived here before us planted. I'm not usually a big fan of mums but these are super-pretty...Owen likes them too!

Happy Halloween

Hope everyone had a great Halloween holiday! We sure did....I believe Owen could have scared off any crows that were brave enough to come around! What do ya'll think????

HAPPY FALL YA'LL

For anyone who does not know, a pumpkin is really a "ball". Owen was excited when I brought this one home, as you can see by the way he is loving it...

New Bedroom

As many of you know, Daniel, Owen and I have been recently blessed with a new home. We are still adjusting and definitely still unpacking (as I believe we will be for the next year or so....). I often wonder how we ever managed to fit all of our things in the house we lived in before. What I miss most about our old home is our neighbors. What I love most about our new home is that Owen has more space to play.

So the house we moved into was built in the 1980's. The family that we bought it from was really sweet but boy, they LOVED wallpaper! I'm not a big fan, so with the help of Christy (yes, you did get the whole thing started if I remember correctly), my sister, and of course my momma, we managed to get down all of the horrible wallpaper--little bitty flowers, Pepto pink paint and baby doll border--down. Thanks to mom who spent two of her vacation days sanding, washing, spackling, washing, sanding, spackling and washing again, then primig and painting and trimming....the room turned out really well! Here are a couple of before and after pics....

This room was the worst but for those who helped out...don't forget, there is a whole hallway of wallpaper! :)

Trucks...

We played outside today for over one hour in the beautiful weather! Thank goodness fall is almost here. "Truck" is the favorite word around our house these days. Here are some pics!

Baby Steps

Owen took his first "real" steps Sunday evening! Aunt Ashley was there watching while we counted eight--yep, eight--steps! They were those baby, Frankenstein-style steps where he had his arms out in front of him, but they were definitely steps!

First Day...Birthday

I can't believe that Owen is now one year old! Thanks to all who attended the first birthday party...we LOVE the gifts and were so glad everyone could come. Can't believe how much he's grown over the last year!
